ABOUT

Anna McConnell (she/her) is an LA-based actor, improviser, and director.

Originally from Apex, North Carolina, Anna is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in Drama (and Environmental Science with a minor in French).

Throughout college, Anna fully immersed herself in the Washington University comedy community, improvising with and ultimately leading Mama’s Pot Roast Improv, as well as writing and performing sketches with Kids on Campus. Anna also had the wonderful opportunity to play a variety of roles through the Performing Arts Department and student theatre groups on campus. Favorites include: Célimène (The Misanthrope), The Player (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead), and Hadeel (Kiss).

In addition to acting, Anna assistant directed a production of Tracy Letts’ August: Osage County with the Wash U Performing Arts Department and directed a freshman orientation play called The Date, teaching all incoming students about relationship and sexual violence. Anna won the Margaret Ewing Award for Acting for her contribution to the Performing Arts Department during her time at Washington University.

Anna moved to Chicago after college and jumped headfirst into expanding her on-camera experience and skills, acting in and helping produce a variety of student films. She also completed the entire iO Chicago improv curriculum and has performed at iO with The Pool. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Anna was performing at iO, The Second City, and The Annoyance with her improv group, A Very Special Episode, which now also has a podcast.


Anna has since made the move to Los Angeles and now lives and works in West Hollywood. Most recently, she has been focused on honing her voice over skills and working on some screenwriting projects, while continuing to pursue a variety of acting and performance opportunities.
